Public Opinion on NuclearPower in Sweden
Swedish people's attitudes towards nuclear power have not been significantly
affected by the accident in Fukushima.
The Novus Opinion polls reveal that 69
% of Swedish people want to continue using nuclear power. Of these, about 50
% are positive towards the idea of building new reactors when the old ones wear
out. This is a small change compared with the same measure last fall.
When asked if they feel concerned about nuclear power, two out
of three answer that they
do not feel concerned.
