Public Opinion on NuclearPower in Sweden

• The survey shows that the positive opinion towards the use of nuclear power is once    again pointing slightly downwards

• But there is still a clear majority in favor of the use of nuclear power
   – 35 percent want to use the existing nuclear power plants, but are against building       new nuclear reactors.
   – 39 percent are in favor of building new reactors if there is a need for it.

• Two out of ten Swedes want to continue to phase out nuclear power through political    decisions.

• The public support for building one or several new reactors if there is a need for it    have slightly weakened.
   – 41 percent are today positive to the idea of expanding and building new reactors       at already existing power plants
   – 46 percent is against this idea.
