Lack of knowledge about nuclear impact on climate.

Swedes have greate confidence in nuclear safety and there is a clear majority to keep the nuclear option.

The opinion about nuclear among Swedes is quite stable. 8 out of 10 Swedes want to keep the nuclear option while 2 out of 10 want to phase out nuclear in spite of safety, economical or agening issues.

On a 10 grade scale the average confidence for nuclear safety reached 7.2 which is slightly higher than the prevoius poll.

The poll also shows that the categories "16 to 29 years of age" and "women" to a greater extent than the rest of the population lacks knowledge about the contribution of green house gases from the nuclear cycle.

The poll was carried out between 14 and 20 November 2007 by the Swedish polling organisation Synovate (formerly Synovate Temo) on behalf of The Analysis Group of the Swedish Nuclear Training and Safety Center (KSU).
Interviews were conducted with a representative sample of 1,036 Swedish adults.
